I will be boarding a chartered plane at 6am that will take me to El Oriente [The East/ Amazon]. Then I will be taking a bus through part of the forest that will take me to a canoe. After hours of traveling, I will arrive at the Tiputini Biodiversity Station in the Amazon. I will be there until Monday [possibly Tuesday] and then I will hopefully have crazy stories for everyone [and pictures too].
Unfortunately my camera is still being dumb and the camera people told me repairing it would be just as much as buying a new one. I'm still going to try and get it to work again because there's stupid dirt in the lens and it wont come out. I have two friends that are bringing their camera so I'll jump in every picture possible and then steal them later.
I have heard stories from people who went to the station a previous weekend that they jumped in the river [with piranhas] and they saw a 1 foot long earthworm. I am really looking forward to the stories that I'll be able to tell you all!
This week was pretty normal. I had a group presentation in ecology and it went alright. I stumbled on some words but I expected to do that. Other than that, I just had classes on Wed and Thurs so my week has been extremely short.
Can't wait for tomorrow! Also, the reason I said I may be back on Mon or Tues is because the last group accidentally missed their flight and got home on Tues so I don't want anyone to worry if I am not back in contact by Mon.
