Blue bus blues

So I received and e-mail from my ecology professor last night saying that there has been a mix up with my 30 hour research project topic. She previously told us that only two groups total can have the same topic out of an assigned list. Apparently two other groups signed up for our topic before we requested it and she just happened to forget to mention that. We finished all of our research and the project is due in two weeks. We have a class website and it only shows one other group as having the same topic. My partner and I went to see her today but she wasn't in her office, of course. I just find it hilarious [by that I mean the most annoying thing ever] that she "just now noticed" that there's a problem.

Luckily [found this out while writing the blog] she agreed to let us continue our project! If she didn't agree I was going to go over her head because we requested the topic in advance and the approval system was that if she didn't respond to tell you otherwise, then the topic was yours. She never replied, so we started our project. Phew- that was a big relief to find out that all of our work wasn't wasted.

On another note, it was a little drizzly on my bus ride home and I thought of this great idea to catch the blue bus home. All I had to do [so I thought] was ride the green bus an extra stop and then catch the blue bus from the terminal then get off at my street. I caught A blue bus, just not the right one. A guy in the terminal told me where to go so I trusted him- bad idea!

I hopped on a packed blue bus and headed out of the terminal. It seemed like we were going the right way until all of a sudden we were on some highway I had never seen before. I freaked out a little and just though "oh haha silly me, I'll just get off at the next stop and ride the blue bus back in the opposite direction." The next stop was on the side of the highway so I thought that would be a bad area to get off at. Then we drove for a while longer and the following stop was in a neighborhood of sorts. I wouldn't call it the ghetto but... it sure wasn't fancy. I'm still not quite sure where I ended up, every random small town looks similar.

That is when I began to pray [and curse myself for being so stupid]. It was still daylight so I wasn't freaking out too much. I found another bus stop and got directions from a teenager in a school uniform [he looked the most trustworthy] and finally another blue bus arrived. It headed back towards the city and I exited in a familiar area. Then I took a safe taxi [known company] back to my house.

Sorry if all of you are scared for my safety now, that wasn't my goal. I will just walk in the rain next time. The blue bus isn't for me. It was an interesting experience though, and by that, I mean it will NEVER happen again! I seem to be having quite a few "never again" experiences lately so how about I put those on hold for a while. Deal!
